History
The history of White Fire OG
White Fire OG joins two clone-only cuts: the Fire OG that High Times said OG Raskal made famous in online forums, and The White, a frost-covered cut said to come from Florida, where it was first called Triangle.1,2 OG Raskal’s description says the breeder crossed them with reversed White pollen, and Weedmaps says the result is better known as WiFi OG.3,4
Timeline

- Nov 2014High Times names Archive Seeds’ Hellraiser OG, a Fire OG × Face Off OG cross, among its top 10 strains of the year, writing that few clone-only strains inspire the reverence given to the Fire OG cut made famous in online forums by OG Raskal.1

Why it spread
It started with two prized clones. High Times wrote in 2014 that few clone-only strains inspire the reverence given to the Fire OG cut OG Raskal made famous in online forums, and Leafly describes The White as so covered in trichomes that its buds look rolled in confectioner’s sugar.1,2 OG Raskal sold the cross as feminized seed and says “The WIFI has quickly become a staple in most gardens”; SeedFinder lists four more breeders selling seed under the name.3,12
Then it became a parent. TLC Collective’s pick of more than 500 seeds, WiFi 43, was crossed into Seed Junky Genetics’ Jungle Cake, Jungle Boys’ Flame N Hotz and 3rd Coast Genetics’ 5G, and Fireline used its own White Fire OG to make White Durban.13,14,15,16,17
The disputed parts of the story
- Breeder: Weedmaps and SeedFinder credit OG Raskal Genetics, and Leafly’s Wifi 43 page says the seeds were originally bred by OG Raskal, but Leafly’s White Fire OG page says “bred by unknown breeders” (see genetics).3,4,13,18
- Fire OG’s parents: OG Kush × SFV OG Kush per Leafly; Raskal’s OG Kush × SFV OG Kush for The Cali Connection’s version, per Weedmaps and SeedFinder. OG Raskal calls the clone one it “brought to the community”.3,19,20,21
- The White’s first name: Leafly says it was originally called Triangle; Krome, quoted on SeedFinder, says the name came from its being a three-way cross; Weedmaps says it may have gone by Triangle or Triangle Kush.2,7,8
- Awards: SeedFinder’s entry lists a second place at a 2017 High Times Cannabis Cup in a “Coffeeshops” category; no other source we opened records it, so it is not in the timeline above.3
- Indica or sativa: from 60% indica (AllBud, Growers Choice) to 60% sativa (OG Raskal’s own entry).3,22,23
